Rex Grossman Get His Knee Hit, Knocked Out of Game Against Redskins

Early in the Redskins-Bears game, Redskins defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin ran into Rex Grossman's knee ... knocking him out of the game. Brian Griese has taken over at QB for the Chicago Bears.

The hit was legal, in a sense: Griffin had his legs taken out from under him by a blocker. However, the hit caused Grossman's knee to bend in a way that knees normally don't bend.

Rex Grossman, who is in a contract year, was able to walk off the field on his own power ... though noticeably limping. He had completed just two of his first six passes before leaving.

"Wrecks" Grossman has had a history of leg injuries. He tore knee ligaments in 2004 then broke his ankle in 2005.
