Bobby Petrino Resigns to Coach Arkansas

Atlanta Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino is resigning to become the next head coach at Arkansas, John Clayton of ESPN is reporting.

Nothing official has been announced, but it's clear that Petrino is leaving for the simple reason that he's discovered this year that he doesn't like coaching in the NFL and much prefers to coach in college. The decision is not about money, Clayton reports, as Petrino actually makes $4 million a year in Atlanta but will make about $3 million a year at Arkansas.

Petrino's one and only year as head coach of the Falcons has been a disaster, from his starting quarterback going to prison to the players all despising him. And now it's over.
