In an interview with ESPN just after Petrino was seen enjoying himself at the press conference that introduced him as the Arkansas head coach, Hall let lose, blaming Petrino for lying to Falcons owner Arthur Blank.
"If I saw him in the street I wouldn't have anything to say to him. I don't have any respect for him. He turned his back on the organization."If you want to hear the entire interview, ESPN has helpfully posted it.

It's hard to believe that this coach couldn't stick it out for 3 more games and THEN leave for the college ranks.

Just another example of how base our values have become. Football has become a joke in this country. At one time it was fun to play, fun to watch and most importantly was associated with admirable values. Now it brings to mind, cheating, disloyalty, money grubing, crime, roudy behavior, and scumbags.

if the falcons are smart, they will hire a man of integrity,hard-working with an impeccable character who has always been a winner. he might not have credentials as a head coach, but in all other areas he his top-shelf. his name is mike singletary. immediate class upgrade to a less than stellar organization.

What a jerk. Take the money and run. Why would Arkansas hire this guy. Do you think he will show any more loyalty there than he did in Atlanta?

What a knucklehead to say this to the media. This guy is a cancer and has lost most of his skill anyway. What a waste of cap space.

Petrino was in it for the long haul only with stipulations: Michael Vick as one of his players. Many Head Coaches have hardships when players can't play for seasons at a time, usually with injuries, and recently with a death to a teammate. But you don't see other Head Coaches high tailing it to another area of Coaching just because they have had hardships.

this is another example of an overpaid atlete that has the cry baby syndrome to get attention. Why would he have to ridicule a man that has moved on for whatever reason to continue his life. It isnt his business what his coach does, he needs to try to live a respectable life and be professional to try and justify how much he is overpaid

I am surprised Petrino left without even thinking about re-grouping next year.. Who knows, maybe they could pick up a better QB.. However, this seems typical of successful College coaches who can't cut it in the Pros.. They run back to college ranks where competition and talent aren't even close to the NFL and you are working with high school kids..i.e. Nick Saban, Lou Holtz and others are prime examples.. The only credit I give Joe Paterno is being smart enough years ago to say no to the NFL.. He is another that couldn't make it with the Pros.. In fact, it's time he gave up the College scene too.. It does tell you something about Petrino the man who cuts and runs to something easier when things don't go his way!! I wouldn't be inclined to hire him for ANY management position with that kind of mindset..Too bad, but it changes his whole image built with Louisville.. A quitter for sure..

My point is DeAngelo Hall always has a gripe. He lambastes the coach...he supports Vick. I think he is an angry, spoiled child.

On the contrary, Robbie. I think it is his business what his coach does. For both Petrino and Hall, the Atlanta Falcons and football were the business.
It's not that Petrino left -- it's how he left. Blank was sticking with him, yet Petrino bails and gets a new job all in one day.

There is something seriously wrong with Atlanta's program. The problem goes far beyond Vick's problems. Time will tell on the Falcon's program.
My sources told me Patrino felt more like a Warden than a Head Coach. Bet Patrino is very happy about his move.

At least Petrino has something to fall back on after failing to make it in the pros. Not so with most college players who don't make it. I would be leary if I was Arkansas, hiring someone who is a failure and has no loyalty.

Now Atlanta knows what we in Louisville found out. Petrino's word is worthless. I do give him credit for taking U of L's program to the top ten. But as soon as we got there he was busy looking for the next big thing. This despite saying he was staying. He has a way of bailing at the most inopportune times. He basically got off the plane after our 2006 Orange Bowl win and took the Atlanta job. Don't hold your breath Razorback fans, he'll dump you too when something better comes along.
