After hours of rumors and speculation, numerous lists circulating through in-boxes and message boards, and general unease in baseball fans around the country, the Mitchell Report is out and Deadspin has already parsed the list for what everyone wants: the names. There certainly are some big names on the list on top of what we already knew, though many of them are retired players. David Justice, Lenny Dykstra, and Mo Vaughn all jump out of the computer screen at me. There's also lots of flashes in the pan like Brian Roberts and Jack Cust and Brendan Donnelly that really shouldn't surprise anyone. There's also a couple guys who have recently moved teams: Paul Lo Duca (oh, we'll have more about him later, I promise), and Miguel Tejada are on the list as is Eric Gagne.
There
UPDATE: I see some grousing in the comments about the completeness of this list. These are the names from the Radomski section of the report, which is where most of Mitchell's investigation was done. The BALCO part of the report amounted to, "These guys wouldn't talk to me, but they're all in trouble because they probably used steroids" and a giant rehash of things we already knew. The section following the Radomski section was "alleged internet purchases," so again, the names aren't included on this list.

I think they should all be put out of baseball for life. I think if we don't stop the drug use now we will be forever in trouble with childern younger and more and more of us will be teaching our kids that lieing is right there is nothing wrong about sheating. Is this what we want to be knowen for!! We tell the president to be open and honest with us and there Baseball is the worst of all sports and the adults are the ones saying over and over winning is more inportant then Drugs. !!!

This isn't a complete list of players from the report. It looks like this is just the Radomsky section. Barry Bonds is definitely mentioned in the BALCO section and there are several other players not on this list from the section about the pharmacy where Ankiel obtained HGH.

Will Leitch of Deadspin has made a fool of himself today. He posted a completely bogus e-mail allegedly listing the names on the report, then followed that up by posting an incomplete list of names from the report under the heading "the complete list of names." He should be ashamed of himself, as should you for treating Deadspin as a news source.

Pat, I went through the whole PDF, Bonds is one of the first people listed under the BALCO section alongside Giambi, Sheffield and others. Lo Duca, Gagne, Kevin Brown were all listed in a later section of the report.

When you wave the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in front of these guys that they pay them nowdays its hard to turn down an extra couple of years in the league. H o F is important to some of them but that cash to make them set for life is the culprit.
Hey Mickey #7 Mantle made $100,000. when the avg salary was almost $10,000.Thats realistic to me.Tickets were reasonable too. Its out of hand now ,blame the owners , advertisers , players , unions and even ourselves the FANS."We lost control"

I think it should be consider like any other work place enviroment, if it is the policy that using any kind fo drugs in the work place is cause for termination after one or two offenses, then they should be terminated. In other words no more fat money contracts from any sources.

WOW.....and remember how Miguel Tejada was so appalled when Rafael Palmeiro indicated that he was given steroids in a supplement FROM TEJADA.....
Imagine that!...

Andy Pettitte, the Bible thumping supposedly born again good Christian, has been exposed as a hypocrite and a cheater. I find him more disgusting than the whole pack of liars and cheaters.

Brian Roberts is on the list because he lived with Segui and Bigbie:
When Bigbie and Segui used steroids in the house, Roberts did not participate.
According to Bigbie, however, in 2004 Roberts admitted to him that he had
injected himself once or twice with steroids in 2003. Until this admission, Bigbie had never
suspected Roberts of using steroids.

I think it sucks that only baseball is being singled out. What about some of those behemoths in football? I'm not sure that ped's do all that to improve someone in baseball. You still have to have some talent. The drugs can't make you hit the ball, just hit it harder. They can't make you find the strike zone, just throw it harder. If these fools are stupid enough to risk their lives for a few dollars, then they're dumb. And as for salaries being so much lower in the days of Mantle along with ticket prices, everything was cheaper, it's apples and oranges

"According to McNamee, from the time that McNamee injected Clemens with Winstrol through the end of the 1998 season, Clemens' performance showed remarkable improvement," the report said. "During this period of improved performance, Clemens told McNamee that the steroids 'had a pretty good effect' on him."
McNamee also told investigators that "during the middle of the 2000 season, Clemens made it clear that he was ready to use steroids again. During the latter part of the regular season, McNamee injected Clemens in the buttocks four to six times with testosterone from a bottle labeled either Sustanon 250 or Deca-Durabolin."

I still have reservations as to how much steroids can enhance your performance in sports? I know they say it can, but gee you still need all of the assets of a athelete to perform well. I just don't know.

Why is our government spending time cracking down on baseball again? Oh yeah, to distract us from their failures on both sides of the party line.
There are kids without adequate public education, health insurance and nutrition but THANK GOD they're getting steroids out of baseball.

At least we now know why Clemens went psycho during the 2000 Series. There should be a warning on the bottle that bats may seem to appear as baseballs to users.
