William 'Refrigerator' Perry Visits Dentist for First Time in 20 Years, Now Has Full Smile

In 1985, part of the charm of the enormous Chicago Bears rookie William "The Refrigerator" Perry was his gap-toothed smile. Fans saw the smile on magazine covers and commercials and in the end zone, and they loved it.

But in the two decades after the Bears won the Super Bowl, Perry's teeth seriously decayed. He went 20 years without going to a dentist, and his teeth rotted to the point where he was embarrassed to smile.

Now he's smiling again. Dave Newbart of the Chicago Sun-Times reports:

Fridge now has a full set of teeth -- albeit fake -- and he couldn't be happier.

"It's wonderful,'' he said. "They look great. It's unbelievable. And I love them,'' Fridge said of his new chompers. ...

Perry has now made several trips to the dentist's office since Vesna Sutter, a dentist at Sunrise Dental, reached out to see if he wanted to have the procedure done free. She said her children saw him wrestling on TV and encouraged her to "help him out.''

"They saw he was smiling less and less,'' she said.

Now he's smiling more. Good for the Fridge.
