Memphis turned in a dominating second half to pummel Georgetown 85-71 today at the FedEx Forum. The Tigers won their 36th consecutive home game and made a strong case that they're the best team in the land.Memphis had mostly coasted through its first nine games, but this was an emphatic performance, led by Chris Douglas-Roberts, who had 24 points and eight rebounds. The Tigers are off for a week before playing what should be a good game against Arizona next Saturday, also at home. Memphis is so much better than the rest of Conference USA that if the Tigers beat the Wildcats, it might be time to start talking about an undefeated season.
Georgetown's Roy Hibbert was in foul trouble and had a rough game, scoring just six points on 3-of-8 shooting. Austin Freeman was Georgetown's leading scorer with 14 points.
