Well, why wouldn't they be? They're paying a ton of money to a guard ill-suited for life with LeBron. Hughes is not a great shooter, needs the ball in his hands without being able to run an offense, and isn't known for consistency. His one season of note came alongside Gilbert Arenas, where the two combined to form a demented Isiah Thomas/Joe Dumars combo. Anyway, some wishful thinking from The Cleveland Plain Dealer:
Larry Hughes' time with the Cavaliers might be just about over. According to several league sources, the Cavs have contacted several teams about a deal involving the 6-5 guard ... One source said the Washington Wizards are one of those teams and another source said another team is in the Atlantic Division.I don't see it happening. The Wizards are trying to get their cap right so they can re-sign Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison. In Arenas, Jamison, and career-year-having Caron Butler, they've found a new Big Three. What's exactly would be the point of chasing an overpaid, erratic player who might not fit and wouldn't address their need for post help?
The trade deadline is Feb. 21 [but] "Hughes will be gone way before then," said one source, who did not want to be identified.
The Cavs, for their part, just want to get their hands on retread Andre Miller.

1. There's no benefit to another team in this trade. Larry Hughes makes no one around him better and can't be brought in as a 2nd team spark because of his huge contract and lack of said spark.
He never got better than his first couple of years which still lead to name cache among GMs.

2. I agree that Larry Hughes hasn't helped the Cavaliers, but there's more "Deadwood" on that team. What about Drew Gooden, talk about ups and downs. It's hard being a Cav fan, without Lebron where would we be? I'm afraid he'll be heading to greener pastures too. Maybe it's time for a change at the top.

3. Larry Hughes is very undependable. He's always injured. You can't build a team when a major piece is always injured.

4. The Cavs will continue to have poblems this and next year. The problem falls squarly on Danny Ferry for not providing a point Guard. Hugh's perfomance and lack of confidence is tied to injury which is understance. Black players are allowed to be injured which results in drop-off in performance. If he was a white plate the blame would be placed elsewhere. Sasha Poblovic should be traded; he is not a good shooter FG 38% and 3PT 34% and 9ppg and very inconsistent. That is not good if the team is to go to the play-off. I also believe that Brown is not handling the line-up very well. I agree in keeping Larry Hugh on the bench as well as Sasha. Drew should remain a starter and given more miutes. If we don't fix this problem LBJ will walk at the end of his contract.

6. The CAVS got to the Finals on a "FLUKE". They did squat to upgrade. Eric Snow, D Marshall , Hughes , Gooden, = all wastes who can not perform the majority of the time. They screwed up when they didnt go after Ray Allen. Mike Brown is no coach anyhow.

7. I feel that Hughs shouldbe traded.Iwonder if his injuries are for real.He doesnt want to play a certin position and he pouts over that,He is not a team player. With a huge contract he should show more enthusiasm and play like a professional not as a has beeen. There are others on the team that are dead wood and should be cut and or trsded.

8. Larry Hughes,Eric Snow, etc. etc. Is it really all these players faults? I think this is truly management failing to make any improvements to the team in the off season. These guys were either mis-fits, overpaid,or getting old. What are we paying Ferry for? To react after the fact? I don't think so. Ferry is paid to forsee problems and eliminate them. Come on EVERYONE IN THE WORLD knows we needed a point gaurd. Is this Ferry just sucking the cavs money like he did when he was an overpaid player? Get rid of him please!!!!
