Minnesota Vikings defensive end Darrion Scott, who is on injured reserve, was cited for possession of marijuana on Wednesday night in his native Charleston, West Virginia.WSAZ reports that police patrolling a housing project watched Scott, driving a white SUV with Minnesota plates, stop and meet with a person. Police then followed the SUV, and when Scott failed to signal during a lane change, he was pulled over.
Police say the officer smelled marijuana coming from Scott's SUV and asked Scott if officers could search the vehicle. Officers then brought in a drug dog, and when the doc indicated that illegal substances were in the SUV, they searched it, finding a small bag of marijuana.
Police described Scott as "uncooperative," adding that he asked, "do you know who I am?"
Scott was cited for a misdemeanor but could now face league discipline under the substance-abuse policy.
