The Washington Redskins beat the Dallas Cowboys, 27-6, to clinch the final spot in the NFC playoffs. Interesting score, eh Chris Samuels?
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21," veteran left tackle Chris Samuels said. "I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."
It's cliche to say you go out and win for a fallen teammate, but it seems since Sean Taylor's funeral the team has been on a mission. Four games, four wins. And playing with a ton of confidence.
The Redskins dominated this game in pretty much every facet:
- 1st downs: Skins 22, Cowboys 7
- Yards: Skins 354, Cowboys 147
- Third downs: Skins 9-of-15, Cowboys 0-of-11
- Rushing yards: Skins 131, Cowboys 1
I know that Dallas fans will be saying "well, we just played down because it meant nothing to us." Fair enough. Still, the Redskins held down a Cowboys' offense that played nearly all of their starters into the third quarter and many of their top defensive players. Don't forget, that offense didn't look too good against the Panthers or Eagles, either.
It is also Dallas' seventh straight loss in the season finale.
Either way, both teams will head into the playoffs and could meet up very soon. Washington heads to Seattle to face the Seahawks on Saturday. A win there, and these two will face off again.
No excuses.

10. Payback? oh your talking about when you guys got smashed in Seattle 2 years ago. Yeah you guys actually put up the best fight in losin by 10 and you know we should have won the super bowl so don't feel like you had a chance in that game. There is a reason Collins is a career back-up and Hasselbeck is a pro-bowler. There is a reason that Seattle's pass defense has held opposing QBs to the lowest QB ratings in the NFL, and 4 pro-bowl starters come from this defense. There is a reason why Seattle has the best home record since the opening of Qwest Field and that is the 12th man. I really hope Collins can think in his first start in a playoff game, in a hostile enviroment. In what his 13 year career? No chance Seattle has the crowd, the talent, and the coach. Redskins have emotion but emotion won't win against a good team, that was shown in the NY NE game. The talent will rise. GO HAWKS!!!
