The Word:

Texans 42, Jaguars 28: Everybody Wins, But Especially André Davis

The Texans win over the Jaguars meant both nothing and a lot.

"Nothing" in that it had no playoff implications.

"A lot" in that no Jaguars of note got injured, and that the Texans finished with their first .500 record in their team's history.

The Jaguars sat their quarterback, David Garrard and their running backs Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. In the first round of the playoffs, they will have a rematch of the very entertaining Jags-Steelers game in Pittsburgh.

Even in sitting their starters, the Jaguars offense was very efficient. Can anyone tell me why Texans fans should be comfortable with Richard Smith as the Texans defensive coordinator?

The Jags biggest problems came from their special teams, where they muffed a punt (André Davis recovered), and allowed two Davis kickoff returns for touchdowns. Davis is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so I am guessing his price tag went up.

I would show you those kickoff returns in a YouTube, but the NFL doesn't like that. So instead, I will refer you to the Texans site that has the highlights, and instead embed the above YouTube link that shows Texans linebacker Morlon Greenwood rapping whilst being very oiled and unclothed. (I would put a warning about possible language concerns except that I don't understand what is being said in the video at all because I am the rap impaired).
