The Seattle Seahawks' season will continue for at least another week and the Washington Redskins' season is over, and the single most important player for the Seahawks in their victory over the Redskins was cornerback Marcus Trufant.
Trufant (aided greatly by Seattle's pass rush) kept Redskins receiver Santana Moss in check, and he sealed the win for the Seahawks when he out-hustled Moss for a Todd Collins pass, intercepted it and returned it 78 yards for a touchdown. That gave Seattle a 28-14 lead with 5:38 remaining; a Jordan Babineaux interception return touchdown made the final score 35-14.
Trufant has been one of the best defensive backs in the NFL this year, and he's doing it at the right time, as he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season. Games like this are why he's about to get very rich.

He will be rich, but he will also stay in Seattle. He grew up here, played college ball here, and has played his entire pro career here. He isn't going anywhere. GO HAWKS!!! Where is DOUG and his trash talk now?

be wary of free agents who have a good year the year their contract is up.

The Seattle defense stood up today. The front seven kept pressure on Collins and stifled the running game in the first half; they forced Washington to try for a field goal when a late-game break gave the Redskins the ball on Seattle's 14; the defensive backfield turned two critical 4th-quarter Redskins turnovers into Seahawk TDs. The Green Bay game should be wild.

As a life long Redskins fan and a once ardent supporter of Joe Gibbs, it pains me to say that this is just a poorly coached football team. The play calling is horrendous, no one blocks and no one tackles. as was the case most of the season, the 'Skins DO NOT play 60 minutes of football. This rests on the coaching staff. Gibbs must go. The game has past him by.

I don't think Trufant would call himself the single most important player for the Seahawks. He's one of four defensive players going to the Pro Bowl. These four players all chipped in to pay for the rest of the team to come with them! That's TEAM spirit!!
