#1 North Carolina moved to 16-0 with a 93-81 victory over UNC-Asheville. The win gives the Tar Heels a perfect non-conference record ... the first time since 1998. The Heels move on to host in state rival NC State this weekend.
The story in this one was Tyler Hansbrough's dunk on UNC-Asheville's 7-foot-7 Kenny George (go here for the highlight).
"Everybody on the team is like, 'Who's going to try to dunk [on George]?'" Hansbrough said. "It definitely was in the back of my mind."
"I saw him coming to the basket. I just kept my hands straight up," George said. "I had him. I just forgot to jump. He jumped. I didn't jump. I should have known than a 6-10 player as athletic as him was able to jump over my hands even if I go straight up."
Yeah, it wasn't one of those cheapies either. Hansbrough had the ball at the free throw line extended, stared at George, got a few dribbles and just went up on him:

That was awesome. Especially for a guy as scouts say, is not that athletic, undersized to play in the post, has short arms, and becomes ineffective against taller/longer defenders. Please someone show me a defender taller and longer than that dude?!?!

Basketball is getting very corny! The guy who dunked the ball CLEARLY travels with the ball! He takes at least three - four steps after his last dribble and before he leaves the floor! In basketball, you are only allowed two steps after a dribble! The refs should be fired!

Dunks on? More like dunks around. Still, travelling notwithstanding, it was a cool play.

Hansborough is overrated. First thing is he went around the lane while the guy was out towards the foul line. And as the announcer filled us in twice he traveled. This is not the NBA, the NCAA is actually supposed to enforce the rules. Lame!
