Jamario Moon Is In the Dunk Contest

There have been no official announcements from the league as to who's been invited to this year's Dunk Contest, but at least one player has leaked the news that he will be a participant. Toronto's Jamario Moon said he received an official invite from the league yesterday, and he's more than excited to get to be a part of All-Star weekend.

"I just found out today that I got an invite," said a beaming Moon. "It'll be big."

As the slam dunk contest isn't quite what it was back in 1985, or even 2000, it was only natural to ask Moon if he planned on participating. The happy-go-lucky rookie suddenly got serious (or as serious as he can get) and seemed appalled at the very thought of not entering.

"Oh, no doubt!" answered Moon. "I'm taking advantage of every opportunity to be a part of something that the legends were part of. I'm taking advantage of everything."

It's nice to see someone genuinely excited about getting invited to this event. In the past Ziller has compared Jamario Moon to a more mature version of Tyrus Thomas, and it's looking now like was spot on. Jamario's comments are markedly better than the ones we heard from Thomas after he was invited last year.

The fans should be excited about Moon's inclusion in this year's event too. Here's a "sick, wicked, and nasty" example of what Jamario can bring to the table.
