Well, he led the team in attempts, rushing yards, yards per rush and rushing touchdowns. That Marion Barber didn't start one game in 2007 makes it even more impressive. But that'll change for Sunday's NFC Divisional playoff game against the Giants. From ESPN's Ed Werder:
It is not only something of a belated acknowledgment that Barber is the team's best runner, blocker and receiver out of the backfield but perhaps also an indication of how much the Cowboys intend to make the emotion that results from his punishing style a factor at Texas Stadium.Werder also reports that head coach Wade Phillips informed 16-game starter Julius Jones of the demotion during the bye week "so that he had time to recover from his disappointment." Unsurprisingly, Jones was upset upon learning the news, and was "clearly not himself for several days." No worries, though; his attitude has since improved and he was assured that he would be rotated into the game. So yay for equality.
This is certainly swell news for Cowboys fans, as are Terrell Owens' chances of seeing the field. ("Nothing will prevent him from playing, Phillips said. In fact, it sounds like he'll start. ) All that's left to sort out is Tony Romo's mental state after vacationing in Mexico with Jessica Simpson last week. Luckily, Terry Bradshaw's on the job.

Am I the only one who thinks this story is funny? Wade Phillips had to tell Jones he lost the starting job while he had two weeks to get over it emotinally?
What the hell is Wade thinking? This is the NFL. If you are second best you don't start, simple as that. I read that Wade had been conemplating this move for weeks but didn't want to upset Jones with the news. If that's true it doesn't say much for Wade's coaching skills.
Lombardi is definitely rolling over lin his grave!
