Chargers defensive lineman Igor Olshansky isn't afraid of giving the Patriots bulletin board material. After the Chargers beat the Colts to reach the AFC Championship Game, Olshansky was asked about the Chargers' next opponent, and he said this:
"Who? New England?" Olshansky said. "Seriously, I mean, they're more worried than we are, I promise you. Believe me. They know what's up."
I have no problem with confidence, even cockiness. But really? Olshansky thinks the Patriots are more worried than the Chargers are? I have a feeling a lot of players on the Patriots will chuckle at that one.

Like there isn't enough animosity between these two clubs. I hope this is the hardest hitting game of the year. Igor will be eating his words along with his teeth. I love the play-offs. GO PATS!!!

Not that I know anything about how Olshansky thinks, but if he means "more worried" in the sense that more pressure is on the Pats than he is exactly right.
The Chargers are playing with the house's money right now.
New England meanwhile is lose-lose until the Super Bowl - if you beat SD then everybody says "ok fine, you beat a 14-point underdog" If they lose however, they just ruined the greatest regular season ever.
If I'm San Diego I'm playing my loosest game of the year.

As a Colt fan who has cooled on them for their "resting" of players, my allegiance now is with the Giants & Chargers to go the route. I do admire the Pats as a great team despite their unusually obnoxious fans.I also admire the Chargers & Giants for hanging in there against all odds and surviving the challenge thus far, and detest the Colt's management for "throwing" the game.
Here's hoping to see Chargers vs. Giants in 'Zona!

capt - Can you link 'us' to a single quote arguing that Rodney Harrison and Randy Moss are the biggest mouths in the NFL?
I'd particularly love for you to provide just 1 single sentence from the last 53 weeks?
I'd pay you $1 million dollars if you can link us to a quote related to an opponent from the last 53 weeks, the funniest thing is you know there's at least 50 related to the current San Diego Chargers roster!!

Great teams don't cheat, eh? Tell me, did Shawn merrimen receive any penalty from the Chargers after he cheated? Did they make any public statement denouncing his cheating? Just wondering.
I love it when people call Pats fans arrogant and obnoxious, then proceed to to call the fans names, and sling mud, all without any football analysis whatsoever. Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle.
As for Oshansky....I said it wouldn't be long until some idiot Charger says something stupid to infuriate the Pats. All you non-Pats fans, who hate the Pats' fans and the team so much, can take solace in the fact that the Pats NEVER talk trash about their opponents, before or after the game. San Diego players, and some fans talk about how classy they are all the time, ignoring the fact that the Chargers have players, like Merrimen, who also gained advantage outside of the rules, and also does the "classless" thing of dancing around after every play he makes. But yeah, it's the Pats who are classless cheaters, right? Too funny.

Capt.....model players??? You have got to be kidding??? Harrison is suspended for part of the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. And all Harrison has ever done this year and throughout his career is run his mouth. Granted, Moss has behaved much better than in years past but he still get's his shots in every once in a awhile. He has only been better better behaved because he is getting the ball and he is winning. Don't be so naive to think that this so called sacred "NE locker room" is keeping him in check. If NE were losing, Randy would be the Randy we have all grown to know over the years. Hey, I don't care.......it's part of the NFL and makes it more fun to watch when these guys mouth off. And I do think Tom Brady is a class act and the best I have ever seen. It's going to be tough for anybody to beat NE. YOU need get off the kool-aid or whatever the NE fans are drinking that give you this delusional mindset that the Pats are all a bunch of Boy Scouts and Bill Belichick is God. Maybe YOU should get "objective" and watch or read a news report that is not sugary, syrupy and biased towards your beloved Patriots........

Yea, a 17-0 team playing at home against a beat up team that barely made it past the Colts. They're worried. Uh-huh.

Rodney Harrison... a "model" player? Give me a break. He is one of the dirtiest players I've seen in recent history, in any sport. You can pretty much chalk him down for 2 personal fouls a game... and those are just the ones that the refs happen to see. Oh yeah, and he was suspended for a quarter of the season for using an illegal substance.
Man, I hope my kids grow up to be just like him.

Alex,
Hopefully you don't have children. They may grow up to be as ignorant as their father.
I'll take Rodney on my team any day. I liked his INT last week, too. Must have given you fits, though.
He may not be a "model" player (whatever that means), but he comes to play every week and leaves everything on the field. As a coach, that's all you can ask for.

Can't we all agree that we have two teams, with some very, um "dynamic" characters, and that will make a great game? it's silly to try to defend Harrison, or Moss, because we know they have checkered pasts. it's just as silly to call the Pats classless, if you are a San Diego fan, because you KNOW that Norv has no control over his team; they rant and rave, taunt other teams, taunt the fans. The pats have spygate, and the Chargers act like thugs and children. So, yeah, we get it. neither team is is perfect. let's stop trying to pretend one team is "classier" than the other. Which team is better? period.
