Yes, that's Bud Selig, making a ha-ha after his cell phone interrupts him. "It's only my wife. I'll punch her out," said the MLB commissioner.
Man, I wish Selig had been as tough on steroids as he says he is with his wife. But then, she probably doesn't bring in as much money as steroids do.
Though I will admit, it's nice seeing Bud displaying a sense of humor for once, or something like it. Maybe he's not just a creepy old robot!

1. It is NEVER funny to joke about hitting your intimate partner, especially not when you are a public figure such as Selig. If he can say it and get away with it, then it sends the message to men and women everywhere that this is acceptable. It is NOT acceptable.

2. I fail to see what's so funny with thinking its okay to joke about violence towards women. I don't care if he was kidding or not, we don't know for sure, maybe he does punch her. Regardless if he was kidding, it's not funny to say something like that when millions of women have been or will be the victim of domestic abuse.

5. First Mr. Selig states it's "only my wife", which is a statement in itself. Followed by "I'll punch her out". This is a very powerful man making a very ignorant statement that he may have gotten away with in another decade. Welcome to 2008 Mr. Selig. Mrs. Selig I think I'd seriously consider a good divorce lawyer. I'm sure his comments did very little for your self esteem. I hope he catches hell when he gets home.

7. It is not funny to say you are going to hit your spouse or anyone elses spouse . I say give Bud Selig a Red Card and 30 days working a SAF house .

8. The person underneath is what is wrong with america. What selig said was not at all serious and people like yourself need to gain a sense of humor and lose your self righteous attitude. basically, I am saying, "You suck" and someone should punch you out.

12. First of all, it's a damn joke. Second, you people need to get out of the VICTIM mentality that has taken over this damn country. It's a frikken joke - GET OVER IT!!!!! Holy Moly. While I agree, its probably not the smartest thing he could have said, it's probably just harmless. And, FYI, I have heard even the most respectful people say "It's just my wife/husband." That means NOTHING. I swear to God people are overly sensitive, overly PC, and just OVERLY RIDICULOUS!!!!

13. I noticed that the only ones complaining about what this "gentleman" said are women, probably with VICTIM mentality. Don't allow yourselves to be manipulated by men or used as punching bags and you might think what he said is actually somewhat humorous.

14. Post number 12...while some would see it as a joke it is in poor taste and ignorant...this will only encourage the idot that beleives it is ok to abuse a partner, child or eldery person.....dumb remark period. If you have lived with an abuser you would understand that this only encourages them.

Would One say such a thing at an Abused women's Shelter?... Probably not ...Because most upright walking humans know that it would be in poor taste!!!

18. Maybe someone should punch him out for not turning off his cell phone before a television interview.
Hostile humor aimed at one's family is never funny.
