Mizzou Needs Warm Bodies

Losing Stefon Hannah for at least a month after having his jaw broken in an altercation this past weekend was a huge blow to Mizzou. Hannah was a senior leader and the starting point guard. Details have still been unclear as to whether Hannah was at the nightclub or the attached pizza joint grabbing a late snack after the team got back from Colorado.

What has become clear was that Hannah was there with teammates, and that they were out after 1 am. This was a violation of Missouri Coach Mike Anderson's midnight curfew for the team. The curfew along with other rules were instituted by Anderson over the summer as part of his "zero tolerance" code of conduct after another player was shot in the ankle outside of a different night spot.

The result: indefinite suspensions from the team for Hannah along with seniors Marshall Brown, Darryl Butterfield and Jason Horton and junior Leo Lyons. It isn't clear how long they will be suspended, but they definitely won't be suiting up for the Wednesday game against Nebraska.
"I am very disappointed in the actions of these young men," Anderson said. "We have defined team rules, and when those rules aren't followed our guys must be held accountable for their actions."
Along with Hannah, the five players averaged about half the minutes available per game. Lyons and Horton have started the majority of the games along with Hannah.

That leaves the Tigers with 6 scholarship players available for the foreseeable future. Mizzou likes to play an aggressive, pressure defense. With the lack of depth, they are going to have to make changes.
