Notes on a trip to the Super Bowl.During last night's Gridiron Greats fundraiser, Hall of Fame Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin spoke about the importance of taking care of the players who came before him. It was, like Irvin's Hall of Fame induction speech last year, a stirring speech.
It was also the setting for the funniest thing I've seen so far this Super Bowl week.
While Irvin was talking about the plight of ex-NFLers who are now living with severe disabilities related to their playing days, a cell phone went off. The ring was loud and annoying. And then it got even more loud and annoying when the guy answered his phone and started talking.
So Hall of Fame Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, sitting a couple of seats away from the guy on the phone, grabbed the guy's phone, hung it up, and handed it back to him. It was an impulse that every one of us has had at some point but few of us has actually acted on.
So I say, kudos to Jim Kelly. You can be sure that when he's around, there won't be any rude cell phone talkers.

Good for him. Being from Buffalo and watching the K-Gun in high gear in the early '90's, he was always my favorite player. His stock just went up even higher, in my mind. People with cell phones and their rudeness is just unbelievable these days!!

A few days ago, you defended the f... Jesus comments from the obnoxious Ms.Jacobson. Had someone flattend her fat ass for making those comments, I would have complimented their actions. As for Jim Kelly, does he have the courage to shut up a slug like Jacobson? I hope so.
