This is sure to endear Chad Johnson to the Bengals faithful, particularly the subset of fans who had grown tired of his act (perceived or not) after the team managed just seven wins in 2007. On Mike Tirico's ESPN radio show yesterday, Ocho Cinco denied that he wanted to be traded, but as the Cincinnati Enquirer's Mark Curnutte writes this morning, "Johnson talked to Jim Rome on his show in Phoenix and again alluded to his desire to be traded. It was similar to the comments Johnson made on ESPN's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" on Jan. 11."
So it sounds like Johnson is talking about of both sides of his mouth. Of course, anybody who thought he was happy in Cincy -- even after seeing this and this -- probably thinks Johnson is also responsible for the team's sluggish performance last season.
Obviously, Mr. Cinco's unhappy with his current set up and it seems like it has to do with one thing: the perception that he's a team cancer. It's hard to blame the guy for feeling slighted; he had another solid season and last time I checked, he doesn't play defense.
Anyway, he hasn't talked to the local media since October, and when Curnutte gave him a ring for this story, here's what Chad had to say:
"I haven't spoken to you all year. Why you calling my (expletive) phone? Why you calling my phone? I don't care what you heard on the radio."Yep, I see this ending well. But like I mentioned yesterday, even if Johnson gets his (alleged) wish and ends up in Miami, how long does that relationship last? I mean, he couldn't take losing seven games, how's he going to react when the Dolphins reel off three or four wins next season?

from the sounds of it on Total Access yesterday he seemed all depressed and like he wanted out of cinci right away. I missed part of it, but it kinda sounded like he said something like "if i don't leave cinci i'll think about retiring"
