Plaxico Burress Only Had Two Catches in the Super Bowl, but the Last One Was Pretty Big
I mentioned earlier that Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress had the biggest catch in recent Giants history (see above), but for me, David Tyree was the team's best wideout on Sunday night. Whatever you think, there's no disputing that Burress' touchdown catch with 35 seconds on the clock led to one of the most improbable comebacks in Super Bowl history.
Not so much because Eli Manning was charged with leading his team down the field with 2:45 on the clock -- he's proven over the last month that he's legit -- but because the Patriots have dominated teams for most of the season.
None of that matters because the Giants were better than the Pats on Sunday, and Burress, who had just two catches on the night -- Manning's first pass and his last -- was better than Ellis Hobbs on the game's most decisive play. Nice timing, that.
