Examining Manning to Tyree, the play that changed the Super Bowl.
During the regular season, Giants wide receiver David Tyree had a whopping total of 35 receiving yards, and no touchdowns. In the Giants' final practice last week, Tyree dropped every ball thrown his way. Surely, that meant that Tyree wouldn't get the ball in Super Bowl XLII, right?
As it turned out, Tyree was the game's most unlikely of heroes, having what's been called the greatest day by a fill-in wide receiver since Max McGee in Super Bowl I.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning deserved the Super Bowl MVP award that he received, but Tyree, who made the best catch in Super Bowl history and finished with 43 receiving yards and a touchdown, was the game's real hero.

Thanks for putting this together.
I like how the internets can be a way of memorializing history, and having this play broken down in this way is something worth documenting.

Congrats to Eli Manning and the Giants for a great come from behind win! I was impressed how the Giants held together as a team and not impressed how when the game was almost over, the Patriots stormed off the field. Win or loose, a team should stay together and the Giants showed this with elegance. Great game!

nice breakdown. I still don't buy Eli for MVP though. he wouldn't have been in the position to win the game on that drive if the defense hadn't held Brady in check like that.
