No doubt this was perpetrated by a man with a fake nefarious mustache! There have been a lot of weird stories this year in recruiting, and while this one doesn't top the Kevin Hart saga it's not far off. Minnesota defensive end Willie Mobley committed to Ohio State in December over the instate Gophers and a few other schools. Then he got a letter:
Along the way Mobley even received a bogus letter allegedly signed by Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel. The letter, dated Jan. 8, advised Mobley that his "football future would be best suited elsewhere." ...For the record, I don't have access to Ohio State letterhead.Roxanne [Mobley, Willie's mother] said she became suspicious because the letter, which was on Ohio State letterhead and postmarked Columbus, Ohio, read: "I know Minnesota has not had the greatest season, but in three years you would be eligible for the NFL. ... If you come to Ohio State, you will be sitting behind upperclassmen for at least two years anyway, and then you never know."
I would like to meet the deranged person who thinks a letter from Jim Tressel that says "Dear Recruit, You Suck" is credible, especially when the body of the letter seems cut and pasted from that stupid guy on your message board always writing open letters to recruits.
OMG LOL Willie Mobley! Come to Minnesota! Sincerely, Jim Tressel.
Are you convinced?

GREAT PIECE!!! That's some shady buisness. Minnesota had a stellar class this year, I wonder if any of their other recruits got similar mail.
Be weary of the mustache! I wonder if Wandstedt was behind all of this?
