Maybe the Falcons luck is starting to change.Atlanta won the coin toss, thanks to general manager Thomas Dimitroff's call of tails, to earn the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NFL draft--Atlanta will pick No. 3 in each round. The Raiders then won a second coin toss for the No. 4 spot, while the Chiefs will pick fifth.
It may not seem like that much, but as we showed yesterday, there has been a pretty significant difference between the No. 3 and No. 4 picks in recent history. It does also mean that the Falcons will be looking at a larger signing bonus and more of a cap hit for their first-round pick than the Raiders or Chiefs, which is the consolation prize for the other two teams.
With decisions to make on trading cornerback DeAngelo Hall and whether to cut veterans like Keith Brooking, Joe Horn, Brian Finneran and Warrick Dunn, it's hard to say which direction the Falcons will go with the No. 3 pick, although it seems way to early to take a quarterback like Boston College's Matt Ryan.

1. If they manage to trade Hall for a first rounder (The Giants are rumored to have offered) they should take the third overall pick to draft a non-quarterback and then take joe flacco with the 31st overall pick from the Giants.
