Praise be to Kelly Dwyer at Ball Don't Lie, who reminded me this morning about the season's greatest hair display yet.Yep, Greg Oden won't put on the sneaks this year... but he's making an impact. Apologies to former fro-hawkers Amare Stoudemire and Ron Artest, but but the sheer size of G.O.D.E.'s melon makes this one a masterpiece. I mean, that's a good three inches of hawk right there; you have gotta go big when you wear a size 17-3/4 hat, I suppose.
It has been rather well-established Oden's a goofy kid. Does that fit into the Oden-Kevin Durant debate at all? Durant comes off as a Brandon Roy-Lamarcus Aldridge quiet leader type; it can't hurt to have a comedian like Oden around the lockerroom. (I hear he's a pretty good player, too.)

1. Oden did not play one game in the NBA and is making head lines ?? He did not win a ring in college anyways in fact his team was demolish by Florida so how good is this guy ; Another fake (B/S) star in the making, go figure.

2. After watching him gimp around in the bowels of the Rose Garden like a 95 year old man, I reiterate my statement that Oden will never play in a single NBA game. What a bust.

3. I like Oden more and more throughout the year. He's been video blogging on Yardbarker, growing mohawks, gaining 50 pounds in a matter of months, and is set to lose all again. Plus, he keeps those emotions in check. Tough to frazzle the young man.

4. Frank: Oden may not have won a ring in college because they lost to Florida,but he absolutely tortured Floridas inside game.Florida won that game from their guard players shooting lights out treys.Oden will eventually heal, (same injury as Amare Stoudemire had)might take the better part of 2 years.But he's only 20 years old now.When he does,he'll be the best Center in the NBA.

Oden almost won in college but ....He has the capacity to be the best center ( potential)in the NBA but.....We have to wait around 2 years to be confirmed ???Possible ,but not yet actual;
Having the capacity to be developed is in each player in the NBA like Bynum (he was born in 87) and like many others good prospects in the game today so mr.g I disagree with you but my point is that Oden is already showing arrogance (good contract $$$$) and I am not impress and unlike you I believe you should EARN before you are counted in, Done.

First the college basketball industry gave him a chance ( to play) even do he was not the best it was a fair shake;
Second the NBA gave him a chance and even before he played 1 game they gave him a big juice contract ( $$$$) because of the credentials that he came with( the package) from college.
So he did play (not the best) and yes I am not counting him out but it seems to me that you are the one giving him more and more chances; Rubbish ,indeed.

Frank: First,If he was not the best in college,why would the NBA make him the #1 overall pick?Do you know something they don't?-Second,the NBA gave him a big "juicy contract because of his credentials".Yes,isn't that quite normal and how things work?-Third,you said he was "another fake (BS) star in the making" and he hasn't even played an NBA game yet.How is that giving him any chance at all?It's fine to have a negative opinion on somebody,but most people at least base it on some kind of fact.
