Joe Flacco Was the Combine's Best Passer

With the caveat that you need to take this with an enormous grain of salt, Peter King of SI.com writes what I've also heard from other sources: During yesterday's quarterback workouts at the Indianapolis Scouting Combine, the best passer was Delaware's Joe Flacco. That won't come as a surprise to anyone who has seen Flacco throw, of course, as these highlights show a live arm:

The question, though, is whether good throws against Division I-AA competition at Delaware, and good throws against no competition at all in the RCA Dome, are enough to make any team take Flacco in the first round of the draft. King writes,

Now maybe -- and I mean, just maybe -- some team with a pick low in the first round or high in the second round might be thinking of him more seriously than they were a week ago.
But I really can't see any team taking Flacco in the first round. High second seems like a best-case scenario for Flacco. And as for the sub-4.7-second 40-yard dash Flacco said he could run? Didn't happen. He was in the 4.8 range.
