When Brian McNamee testified that he saw Roger Clemens at Jose Canseco's BBQ, he had a funny explanation for why he remembered the day so clearly more than nine years later: "they talked about how great Jose's wife's augmentation job was to Debbie and showed her. And then Debbie showed her her augmentation job." If you were in the room for that demonstration, you'd probably remember it, as well. It seems that McNamee isn't the only one who recalls that story -- Clemens himself apparently had fun telling some of his teammates the story. From the New York Daily News:
Congress is believed to have received new evidence over the past 10 days that may further undermine Roger Clemens' sworn testimony that he did not attend a suddenly notorious 1998 party at Jose Canseco's South Florida home. And this is why joking about your wife's rack is never, ever a good idea. That said, the Daily News is actually flat-out wrong in that first paragraph -- Clemens never actually testified that he wasn't at the party. He said he may have arrived to the party after golfing, which is exactly how McNamee described it in the first place. The real point of contention is whether Clemens obtained steroids from Canseco at the party, something random pictures and raunchy anecdotes don't prove one way or another.
The Daily News has learned that in the days since the Feb. 13 public hearing on steroids in baseball, another major leaguer has informed congressional investigators that Clemens often joked in the clubhouse about a memorable account of the party - a scene in which Debbie Clemens and Canseco's ex-wife Jessica compared the results of their surgical breast enhancements.
The new revelation adds to the probability that Congress will make a criminal referral of the matter to the Justice Department, which lawyers on both sides have told the News was always a likelihood.

2. Clemens and Conseco are certainly class acts. Probably pimping their wives after he rack comparison. Says a little about their values and ethics (lack thereof). Sounds like the type folks to use drugs for recreation and enhancement.

3. Clemens is no more above the law than Martha Stewart was. The question is, did he lie to a congressional committee. If it is proven that he did, he should do some jail time just like Stewart.

4. I do believe there are MUCH more pressing issues than whether or not Clemens lied about HGH or steroids....How is it that this government actually sees nothing wrong with this whole situation? Is the American Public that blind and ignorant to all of this?

5. Are these people the same people that conservatives in congress are backing. This information about breast implants sounds phony to me. I can't believe any decent man would speak about his wifes private business in a locker room. Does George Busch senior know about this?

6. Mr. Watson,
YOU are incorrect when you say that the Daily News is flat our wrong. Clemens may have hemmed and hawed in the on television testimony, but his Deposition which is also legal sworn testimony he specifically said this a number of times.

A. Clemens: ...I never was at the party.
Q Let me ask a couple -- you said you were not -- you were not at this -- you weren't at this party?
A That's correct.
Q And could you have been at his house during this time period, June 8th to 10, 1998?
A No.
Q Why do you say that?
A I wasn't at the party. I know I wasn't at the party.
