It's been a while since we've heard from our good friend Stephon Marbury, hasn't it? According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, that's not a coincidence:Stephon Marbury has been instructed by Isiah Thomas not to attend Knicks home games - another indication of the continuing feud between the former pals, The Post has learned.Marbury was doped up on pain-killers following his ankle surgery but started rehab at the team's facility 11 days ago. He's apparently wanted to attend games since the All-Star break but was rejected. In addition, Thomas is also flat-out refusing to mention Marbury's name when discussing the team's backcourt plans for the future, suggesting the team will ultimately buy out the final year of his contract, worth about $21 million, instead of bringing him back.
According to a Marbury confidant, the embattled point guard is under a gag order by Knicks management, forbidding him from speaking to the media. Marbury has not commented since his Jan. 22 ankle surgery. "They've got a muzzle on him," the confidant said.
If he's bought out, where will he end up? I don't think it's out of the question that some NBA team out there would bring him on board as a starter -- he'd be far less of a disappointment were he not making max money -- but he did make that promise that he'd play in Italy when his deal with the Knicks expired. Let's see if he lives up to it.

I've never heard of a team doing this to a player. It's almost sad how the Knicks are trying to belittle and bury Steph. He may not be the best person in the world, but the Knicks should not be doing this. Reach a compromise and part ways.

Actually who cares Marbury has been a scab on the sore on the knicks roster,I would die to be making that kind of money and i would perform to the highest level, role model he is not,it seems the knicks as of late always find away pick up scabs on their roster remember LaTrell Sprewell need i say more, its just sad how far this historic organization has fallen,I think other all nba teams need to send a message to all the players in the league making sure they know that they are not bigger than the game,a role model stephon your not,i loved you at georgia tech remember your commitment there?? my you have fallen so far.....

I agree - isiah Thomas has made some major mistakes both in his personal life and that as a head coach. If the Knicks managment has forgiven him, why can't he forgive Stephon for whatever crime he has committed?

How about banning Isiah Thomas from the Garden? I used to watch every Knick game. That is no longer the case. I now take joy in watching this mush of players lose. It confirms my high BB IQ. I knew the would be 20 games under after the all-star game. I called that before the season startd. LARRY BROWN was the Man who would've hadthis team ready to win.

Its sad how far you have fallen mr.marbury, you my friend is not bigger than the game, how many people would give anything to be making that kind of jack,it seems that your not just the problem alone, the knicks organization seems to thrive lately on picking up scabs, remember LaTrell Sprewell, you had a great commitment at georgia tech, and you just lost your drive to be one of the nba`s elite players,i say get rid of bad rubbish

A pox on both their houses. Thomas is a disaster for NY - should be in jail rather than on the bench. Marbury is, and always has been, a petulant child. Enough already with these two.

Typical move with that franchise. What a joke the Knicks have become. If you don't want him, get rid of him to a team for anything,,,,cash, a player or two, a draft choice, a parking pass, who gives a shit, cut him loose and let him go. No one will ask why or even care, but, do what a grown up NBA team would do. If nothing else a contender could pick him up and make it somewhat interesting for the playoffs. But what is going on over there in KnickerKnicker land is another form of LOW and NO CLASS in the organization. Christ, grow up.
