Pat Riley's rage knows few bounds -- Watson
pointed out this morning the coach intimated the season ticket holders deserve refunds, given the product they have been subjected to. But Riley might even be feeling sorry for himself for watching it every day as he is indicating he might step away from the team for a little while to scout college prospects. From
the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman:
Riley said the hiatuses would begin next week and did not name which of his assistants would coach amid his absences. ...
"I happen to have two titles but it's one job," Riley said of holding the dual title of team president. "I have to balance both balls here."
Yes, what happens in the June draft is far more important for the Heat than what happens the next 20-odd games. Color me a bit jealous, though; I'd love to get some time away from the grind to take in March Madness.

1. Riley seems out of bounds doing this. Maybe it's his job to scout as the president, but I'd figure your team's games matter the most. Riley's essentially giving up on his team (once again) to look forward into his fantasy future. He surely could have scouts go to these events like the rest of the NBA teams do.
Just strange. I don't know what's up with Riles.

2. Ryne, lately you seem to be the expert on every sports story written. Who made you head critic?

3. I'm not going to apologize for having an opinion, Ron. Just as the FanHouse writers are not going to apologize for placing their 'take' in almost every post, either.
You might remember this is a blog. No 'experts' reside here. Just opinions.

4. Riley is more of a quitter than his team.
