Being a Dookie isn't easy.
Even among the degenerates flooding Vegas sports books this week, the admitted Duke fan is always the most unpopular person in the casino. The assumption is you're either an idiot bandwagoneer or a blueblooded jerkwad betting money from your company's expense account.
But we can use situations like this to pinpoint exactly what kind of Duke fan you are. Faced with such criticism, which of the responses below would you most likely use?
"I grew up a Duke fan. Your taunts bore me."
"I went to Duke. I'm cheering for my alma mater. Go away."
"You wish you had a genius like Coach K building your program."
"I'm an announcer and backing Duke is my job."

1. It's just plain jealousy because of the best coaching staff in the NCAA, (USA Men's Basketball Coaching Staff...) as well as playing team basketball, and not that crap that passes as basketball now. Also more importantly the college graduation rate of basketball players from Duke versus the national average. Then you add in the creative fans with their choreagraphed chants, skits, and movements that so many other college student bodies emulate today. I always look forward to mid November when their season starts and become somewhat saddened when their NCAA advancement ends. I'm hoping for early April this year.

2. I can't stand Duke Fans. Like Notre Dame they think they are better then everyone else, even in a down year. I agree they are one of the premier programs in basketball, but I can't stand their arrogance.

5. I don't think people dislike dook persay, it's the dook fan's that most people hate. I'm a TARHEEL first and an ACC fan second. I love to see everyone in the ACC win outside of the ACC,but there is no better feeling than to see the look on a dook fan's face win they lose.

6. I'm going to make it very simple, I HATE DUKE!!!!!!. When you look at Coach K, all you will see is his evil eyes. I liked Duke way back when in the early to mid 60's when they had a gurd by the name of Bob Verga. He went to St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey, and I played against him in some summer basketball pickup games in the area. His jump shot was so hard to defend against, as he would shoot it from behind his head.

9. Some people just get tired of seeing DUKE there every year. Last year Coach K took a team of freshmen and (the vastly overrated) Josh McRoberts to 22 wins, in a rebuilding year. This year he has taken this group of freshmen/sophomores, with one (very average) senior to 28 wins. Next year, if he can get his hands on a big man to help the inside game, his soph/jr. shooters will fill it up, and be a national threat. Again, some people just get tired of their success. Get used to it, they aren't going anywhere.

10. First of all DUKE is one of the top Schools in the Country so people need to Respect that,these are young men out on that court and just becouse they choose Duke people seem to hate them,but if the kids went to your School you would love them.Coach K is a great coach but he just needs to play his bench more and stop depending on his top 5-6 players, if he would no one could touch them.so all you other Schools be thankfull.UNC surely could not handle them they could easily have 8-9 loses on the year they have been very lucky.By the way i am a big Duke fan and don't hate the players hate the Ref's they stink this year.
