Despite reports in the Arizona Republic last Friday that the Eagles had contacted the Cardinals last week about a potential trade for wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Philadelphia President Joe Banner said on NBC 10 that those reports were not true. Banner says they "did not and are not" trying to trade for Fitzgerald.
Banner also goes on to say they were "salivating" with the prospect of landing Randy Moss. It seems quite clear that he believed Moss was extremely close to signing with the Eagles. Moss may be the biggest fish the Eagles have ever allowed to get away.
As far as the Lito Sheppard situation, Banner indicates it's a wait and see what the market could bring for the former Pro Bowler. If no deal tempts the Birds, there is simply nothing wrong with having three impressive corners.
