Shaq Dives Into the Stands
At the time this happened, I was of the opinion that this dive by Shaq into the stands was excessive. After reviewing it a few more times, I stand by my initial take. He didn't need to do this, but after all, Shaq is an egomaniac, and this is at least part of what the Suns signed up for when they traded for him.
The Suns are going to get 110% effort from Shaq for at least the rest of this season, that goes without saying. They'll just have to put up with theatrics like this along the way, because Shaq wants to make damn sure that if he's going to go all out like this, that we all notice when he does.

Suns beat the defending Champions. In other news, Fakers got stunned by the lowly Kings at home. lol.

the reason that he dove so far was because there were two young children in the front row. rather than take them out, he chose to dive over a few rows and land in an area of the stands where he wouldn't injure children. good play if you ask me. quick thinking to put your own safety (who knows what's going to happen after a move like that) behind the safety of children. shaq is win.

What I want to know is what kind of parents are giving their kids courtside tickets like that..

Shaq may not have always been known for his effort but give credit where credit is due. He may not have had to jump into the stands but if he didn't he would have destroyed those two little kids sitting courtside.
So please explain to me what you would have had him do instead of jumping into the stands?

What a stupid blog. If you watched the game you obviously had to see the kids and hear the announcers talking about why he dove so far into the stands. Seems like this person making this blog just wants to say something negative about shaq.

dan, Brett Edwards ALWAYS has something negative to say about the Suns. It's just his thing.

Mr. Edwards, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in aol fanhouse is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Brett Edwards you truly are an idiot. Give credit where credit is due. Shaq gave effort on the play and then avoided landing on the kids. Now go back to kissing Kobe's ass, Brett.

Like ESPN or TNT commentators, it seems like it a gargantuan effort for you to recognize the efforts made by individual players or a team against another tough team unless its the Fakers over which you wish to slather. I know you all have orgasms hoping its a Lakers/Celtics finals but don't count your chichens before they're hatched just yet. LA sucks!!!

I have to agree with most comments ahead of mine: Why don't you give credit where credit is due?
What's wrong with you writers? When Shaq sucks you criticize him, when he puts in some effort you still criticize him. Why do you have to be a hater? It really doesn't make your blog more worthwhile...

Hey Brett,
I started reading AOL fanhouse a few months back and thought it was OK. Its only after the Shaq trade that I noticed what a total Lakers homer you are. The fact that you got your ass whooped the past 2 playoffs by the Suns seems to have gotten to you so bad, you can't seem to stop finding fault with the Suns.
Even when you're not talking about the Suns, you contrive to bring em into the picture and say they suck. You really shouldn't be writing on fanhouse. Start a Lakers blog or go ride Kurt's (Blue and Gold) jock.
I think I'll stick to truehoop and deadspin in teh future. Good luck!

"Hope," says the Tim Robbins character in the movie Shawshank Redemption, "is a good thing. Sometimes it is the only thing."
I think he said either before or after he got raped in prison by a bunch a creepy and scary thugs.
So, "keep hope alive," little midgets, "keep hope alive."
Until, of course, the Lakers come knocking on your cell door and say "It's time."

I wonder if is any problem between Shaq and Duncan;
Shaq went down and Duncan offered him ( Shaq) his hand to get up but he ignored him instead he grabed the hand of another player ( to get up) what was that all about ??

Weissfeld. It is only one game so we midgets are not rejoycing, at least not yet. I thought that when the clocks changed for Daylight Savings in La La Land it was supposed to be Spring forward, not fall backwards as in lose to the Queens at home.
The only thing that could make us lowly downtroden desert midgets rejoyce is to meet the League Leading Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs and beat them in 5. I will post about you the rest of the summer as you cry under your smog covered sheets.

It's pretty easy to see that Edwards has never played basketball in his life in addition to being a Lakers homer. If you are hustling to save a ball, you don't have time or vision to pick out a teammate. Second, I was sitting on the baseline and if Shaq doesn't avoid those kids sitting courtside, they're both in the hospital today. Isn't there something more newsworthy to write about ??

Whats the matter, Brett? You don't like good entertainment?
That's exactly what Shaq is. He's an entertainer.
Lighten up dude. Sports are supposed to be fun, and Shaq's theatrics put a smile on everyones face (well, everyone except cynical sports writers, apparently).

Hey Brett, almost every professional athlete is an egomaniac. I'm sure that's not breaking news, either.
If Shaq is going to give 110% effort the rest of the season, then we're surely going to take notice - as you said above. Exactly what is wrong with that? The man's livelihood depends on him being noticed, just like every other pro athlete. Wake up!

"lowly downtroden desert midgets rejoyce."
I like it. I'll use it, except of course, there are two "d's" with downtrodden and one "i" with rejoice.
Should have gone to high school, knucklehead. Personally, I blame the Philly public school system for your failings.
Good luck with the Micky D's job.
