Michael Jordan Not Named in Spitzer Sex Scandal Investigation

I know, that doesn't really seem like it's news. I mean, a lot of people weren't named in this investigation (including me ... *whew*). But apparently there were rumors that the former NBA star was the Chicago-based "Client 10" that came up during the FBI investigation of the prostitution ring that ended up taking down the Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer. Jordan's attorney, Frederick Sperling, lets us know that thankfully, MJ was not involved:

In order to end rumors that unnamed Client No. 10, who requested an Emperors Club prostitute for March 4 in Chicago, may have been Jordan, Sperling tells Sneed: "I have just received confirmation from Assistant U.S. Attorney Rita Glavin in New York that our client Michael Jordan is neither a subject nor a target of this investigation."

Excellent, case closed I guess. Although it's at least a little curious that Sperling needed to get confirmation from a U.S. Attorney in New York, when he seemingly should have been able to get this information directly from Jordan. Either way, I can't say it would surprise me if it did turn out that MJ had gone down this path for his female companionship. I'm pretty sure he'd do almost anything to avoid a repeat of the stalker incident that went down a few weeks ago.
