Look closely at the picture. See anything wrong? If you don't, you're either not looking hard enough or don't know how to spell Rip Hamilton's name. That's the jersey he wore for the start of Tuesday's game against the Nuggets until the team eventually noticed and gave him some new threads. Maybe I could understand a missing consonant from Walter Herrmann's jersey, but Hamilton's name is neither hard to spell nor unfamiliar, as Dana Wakiji of the Detroit News points out:
But I mean, really. Is it his first year with the team? I don't think so. And I don't think it's a tough name to spell. World-wide Wes is blaming Rasheed for it, but we'll have to see who ends up taking the blame for this one.A funny Hamilton story complete with Worldwide Wes mention? But of course. In any case, "Hamiltion" certainly wasn't jinxed by his wardrobe gaffe: he scored a team-high 24 points in Detroit's 136-120 rout over the visiting Nuggets.

8. Yes the person who made the shirts should be fired!! That is their job...nobody else is to blame! But it's not surprising, I see things on TV, billboards, restaurant menus, etc. that are spelled wrong all the time. The world is stupid at spelling.

10. The person who made the mistake should have to spend 24 hours in the town west of Media, PA, where Rip Hamilton grew up. It smells terrible there, because they are making fertilizer.

11. FIRED???? I guess no one's ever made a mistake at their job? Misspelling a name, while embarassing, isn't a fireable offense in my mind. Print them up a nice list of names and numbers, in BOLD, so it doesn't happen again.
