I was kidding when I mentioned earlier today that Pacman Jones was headed to Dallas. Last week, there were rumors that the Cowboys were interested in the strip-club loving Titans cornerback, but nobody thought they were more than that. Well, they are: Dallas has held preliminary discussions with Tennessee about trading for "Making it Rain."
According to a source, Titans officials are not in a hurry to make a deal but realize the best way to move on without Jones is to trade him.Everybody wins. And if, as the Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins reports, the Cowboys would have to just give up a late-round pick, it's worth the risk. And at this point, anything the Titans can get -- a late-round pick, autographed picture of Jerry Jones, box of doughnuts -- is gravy.
Manny Arora, Jones' Atlanta-based agent, said Thursday the Cowboys are near the top of the list to acquire his client.
Unlike Terrell Owens, who had an amazing knack for dividing locker rooms, Jones' biggest issues were off the field. So there's really no fear of him doing to the Cowboys what T.O. did to the Eagles. So there's that.
Jones was one of the NFL's best cornerbacks in 2006, and he's also a dangerous punt returner. Dallas is in the market for some secondary help and Jones would fill an obvious need. Of course, for Jones to actually contribute, commissioner Roger Goodell will have to reinstate him, something that might not happen in 2008.

1. Great! That's all we need. One more thug to draw the headlines. I think Jones will do anything to keep the Cowboys in the papers and on ESPN. Gotta pay for that new stadium somehow, I guess!

2. Pacman will do just fine.
Dallas needs a corner, and he is a great one. As far as the off-field issues, they make good press, and they are embarrassing to the Goodell (because they make such good press) but it won't distract the team.
And to all of you buckras who wanted to see him out of the league. Too bad. You'll just have to resort to getting on the internet to bash him, cause he doesn't give a damn about any of you anyway.

3. "Unlike Terrell Owens, who had an amazing knack for dividing locker rooms, Jones' biggest issues were off the field."
Ummmm, you're dead wrong there. It was well known in the Nashville media market that almost the entire Titans squad hated him and his behavior on and off the field. Jeff Fisher lost the locker room Pac's rookie year, and he was still openly resented the next year.
That offseason a VERY successful cocaine dealer was busted by Nashville police, and in wire-tapped phone conversations that hit the local media, THE COCAINE DEALER said his guys needed to quit selling Pac drugs because was 'out of control'.
He was a complete cancer before he stepped on the field, and before he paralyzed Tommy Urbanski.

4. PacMan Jones would be the next coming of DEion "Prime Time" Sanders if he plays for the Cowboys.

5. Go ahead and just mail the SB Trophy to Valley Ranch now. It's over. Dallas 45 : AFC opponent 13.
Jerry Jones, the greatest owner the NFL has ever known.

7. Here's what I don't get about the whole Pacman Make It Rain controversy: he gives a tip, asks for the money back, and he's the one who's pissed off and goes on a rampage?
Huh???

8. Pacman was never one of the NFL's best CBs, he is decent, but a far better returner than a coverage guy.

10. "Jones was one of the NFL's best cornerbacks in 2006"
If he was/is so great then why was the Titans' D 30th that year, yet jumped to a top 5 defense the next year WITH THE EXACT SAME PERSONNEL AND COACHES , BUT MINUS THIS DOUCHEBAG?

12. Hey guys
Let me tell you as Giant fan...this is not good news. PacMan eats up Giant recievers and we would have to face him twice. If this trade goes through, we only hope that PacMan stays out late in Dallas...lol

14. 'Send us your bad, your criminal minded, your nutcases, who cares. Its football on the field.
You play good football, I dont care what you do
after the game. I only pay attention to you on
the field, not after you leave it. Winning is
#1 in the NFL and we all know and want that.'
Go Pacman; to Dallas. Go Cowboys; to the SB.

15. It's not like we're getting Tyson post-rape.
This is Pac-Man Jones in his prime. His return ability alone is worth a late round pick. Especially since Dallas hasn't had a return guy since Deion.
This move might even allow Anthony Henry to move to Free Safety, and Ken Hamlin to push Fat Williams out of Strong Safety....at least on passing downs.

16. I think Pacman could really help the team but I fear another trouble maker on the team may screw up the chemistry. The Cowboys can do better elsewhere.

17. If the Cowboys hire Pacman Jones, I will not watch a Cowboy game while they have him there. I am a lifelong Cowboys fan that will end the day they hire him.
