Attention Dallas-Area Strip Clubs: Pacman Jones Could Be Coming to the Cowboys

I was kidding when I mentioned earlier today that Pacman Jones was headed to Dallas. Last week, there were rumors that the Cowboys were interested in the strip-club loving Titans cornerback, but nobody thought they were more than that. Well, they are: Dallas has held preliminary discussions with Tennessee about trading for "Making it Rain."
According to a source, Titans officials are not in a hurry to make a deal but realize the best way to move on without Jones is to trade him.

Manny Arora, Jones' Atlanta-based agent, said Thursday the Cowboys are near the top of the list to acquire his client.
Everybody wins. And if, as the Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins reports, the Cowboys would have to just give up a late-round pick, it's worth the risk. And at this point, anything the Titans can get -- a late-round pick, autographed picture of Jerry Jones, box of doughnuts -- is gravy.

Unlike Terrell Owens, who had an amazing knack for dividing locker rooms, Jones' biggest issues were off the field. So there's really no fear of him doing to the Cowboys what T.O. did to the Eagles. So there's that.

Jones was one of the NFL's best cornerbacks in 2006, and he's also a dangerous punt returner. Dallas is in the market for some secondary help and Jones would fill an obvious need. Of course, for Jones to actually contribute, commissioner Roger Goodell will have to reinstate him, something that might not happen in 2008.
