The Premier League season has suddenly become a study in trauma -- specifically, the trauma of watching as a teammate's leg bend in a way it shouldn't.
Since Eduardo da Silva's shinbone saw the light of day, Arsenal has stumbled in league play, taking only four points in its last four games. That slip left the door open for Manchester United and Chelsea to make the league race a real race again. Cristiano Ronaldo did his part with two stunning strikes -- video after the jump -- against Bolton to give the Red Devils a 2-0 win and a 3-point lead on the league table.
Chelsea, however, were foiled in their attempt to tie Arsenal on points, settling for a 4-4 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in a shootout at White Hart Lane. Robbie Keane served up an equalizer in the 88th minute, a mere 8 minutes after Joe Cole scored what looked like a winner.
Now the title race gets serious. Man U is on 70 points, Arsenal is 67, and Chelsea is on 65 with 8 games left, and this Sunday is a Grand Slam Sunday, with Liverpool visiting old Trafford and the Gunners going to Stamford Bridge. Will the Red Devils pull away, or can Arsenal snap out of its funk and return to its winning ways? Robin van Persie says it's trophy or bust for the Gunners. We may find out which by week's end.
