North Carolina Has Send-Off Planned for Long Trip to Raleigh

The East's top seed North Carolina is having a send-off at 2:30 p.m. for their trip to the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels will face Mount St. Mary's on Friday night and is inviting fans to come down to the Dean Smith Center to wave and cheer their heroes off.

After all, it is a 25 minute bus ride to Raleigh, site of the game.

The team will board their buses to Raleigh at 2:30 today, and fans can gather outside Entrance D of the Smith Center to wave goodbye and cheer them on. The bus is scheduled to depart at 2:45 p.m. There will be no time autographs.

You better get there! If you don't, then you may have to make the pilgrimage all the way to Raleigh to see their 4:25 p.m. practice. And, please, please, please don't ask for any autographs. The Heels are on a tight schedule and must travel two counties over for the practice and don't need people causing any delays.

Of course, I'm being sarcastic and condescending. It is nearly laughable how short the distance is from Chapel Hill to their NCAA tournament destination and having a send-off seems like overkill since these same fans may end up being part of the welcome party when they get to the RBC Center.
