In case you missed it, baseball made its long-awaited return this morning which means that several things are right around the corner. Summer, Ken Griffey's season-ending injury, the mathematical elimination of the Kansas City Royals and Jose Canseco. Baseball's worst nightmare's new book Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars and the Battle to Save Baseball is coming out on April 1. But we don't have to wait until then to find out the juicy innards of Canseco's latest opus. Joe Lavin found a copy of the book already on sale and shares that, as promised, Alex Rodriguez is one of the featured players.
Canseco says he didn't inject Rodriguez, but that he "introduced Alex to a known supplier of steroids." Canseco didn't mention Rodriguez in the first book because he "hated the bastard." He was worried that people would have "questioned [his] motives" had he included Rodriguez.I guess that makes it official, everyone hates A-Rod. You've gotta draw a line somewhere. Canseco may be a drug-inflated narcissist but adultery rubs him the wrong way.Why all the hatred, you ask. Well, Canseco claims that A-Rod was trying to sleep with Canseco's wife. Apparently, even after Canseco had been nice enough to help A-Rod find a friendly steroids supplier, A-Rod kept calling Canseco's wife.
And, in case there's any further confusion about Canseco's true feelings, he ends the chapter by saying:
So A-Rod, if you're reading this book, and if I'm not getting through to you, let's get clear on one thing: I hate your f***ing guts.

That's laughable and ridiculous. Is that the best Canseco could come up with?

What I find funniest about this is the release date of the book. It really makes sense for what he is selling.

Seems to me that a) if you hate the bastard, and b) the bastard that you hate is trying to sleep with your wife, that would be incentive enought to put him in the first book. "Fight fire with a dragon" I always say. All the credibility he built up with the first book (snitch) just got shot to hell with this one. Jose isn't smart enough to havre thought of a sequel when he penned "Juiced", probably can't even spell it.

I think Canseco is suffering from the after affect of steroid abuse.
