The 49ers Tamper, Hilarity Ensues

All the MSM types with, you know, actual sources are still trying to sort this whole 49ers tampering situation (dubbed "NegotiGate" by Matt Maiocco). It appears as if there was actually far more evidence than just two missed phone calls, as the 49ers PR department tried to spin it. According to reports, the league also collected the email from every prominent team front office employee, which had enough detail to place the phone calls in context and indict the 49ers.

As Tim Kawakami notes, Roger Goodell probably isn't taking too kindly to the 49ers downplaying their actions and essentially painting him as a rogue enforcer mercilessly stealing draft picks. If we've learned anything, it's not to screw with The Rog. But Kawakami reports another interesting development, which I find utterly hilarious.
Some of the internal e-mails from front office people reveal that the top lieutenants to John and Jed York possibly aren't quite totally all best friends and totally on the same page.

It's probably never good for power people to see each other's private intra-office e-mails. But, thanks to the investigation, now they all know who thinks what about whom. And the commissioner's office knows it, too.

Gossip! Scandalous! I mean, it's one thing to get busted by the league doing something every other team does, and another to get busted while not even getting the player you wanted. But what kind of foolishness does it require to have all of your dirty laundry aired to everyone in the team and the league?

Me thinks water cooler talk has been a little bit more awkward as of late.
