The current reported/alleged record for most baseball fans to attend a single game is roughly around 114,000, when that many people showed up to an some sort of Olympic exhibition match between Australia and an American military team way back when in 1956.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox will be looking to break that record tonight as they tee off in the Los Angeles Coliseum. I use the golf analogy because apparently, back in the day, the Coliseum sported an absurdly short 251 foot fence in left field, even if it had a 42 foot high screen. Tonight, the distance will be only 201 feet although the screen will be raised to 60 feet.
'It'll be interesting and definitely something that will be talked about for years,' Boston's Kevin Youkilis said. '(Batting practice) could be interesting.'In other words, look out traffic jam. That is a whole lotta Dodger and bandwagon-Red Sox fans all fighting to get down the same road in order to arrive halfway through the third inning.
The Dodgers said Friday that the full allotment of 115,300 tickets - with all the proceeds going to ThinkCure, the Dodgers' official charity - have been sold.

1. What MORON came up with the schedule for the Sox these past two weeks. Two games against Japanese teams, two against Oakland to start the season, then 3 "spring training" games in LA, and then two more regular season games against Oakland??? WHAT!!!!!
After the long trip, different time zone and shortened spring training, the Sox should have finished up in Japan, then flew to Oakland, where they would have had a few days to get back to a near normal schedule, THEN play the remaining two games with Oakland. What a farce. Duhhhhhh!!!!!!

2. Could the freak schedule of the Red Sox going to Japan and then playing the Los Angeles Dodgers be that the schedule maker is a Yankee fan or wants to screw your Red Sox for being champions?
