Edwards, who has also won at California and Las Vegas in 2008, led 123 laps of 339 to score the win over Jimmie Johnson.
Late in the race, it looked like Edwards would cruise to the victory with a safe lead of over one second when Martin Truex Jr.'s No. 1 Dale Earnhardt Inc. Chevrolet blew his engine with four laps to go. On the green-white-checkered restart, Edwards kept his No. 99 Aflac Ford in front and led the final two laps.
The win puts Edwards 10th in points, 184 behind leader Jeff Burton.
As the field came to the checkers, Clint Bowyer got turned on the frontstretch and pounded the wall, but slid across the line in 10th. Denny Hamlin called it a "stupid move by the 07".
Kyle Busch finished third, Ryan Newman fourth, and Denny Hamlin 5th.
In the point standings, Burton leads Kevin Harvick by 59 points with Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Tony Stewart rounding out the Top-5.
Only 6 caution flags waved on a mostly quiet day at TMS that was dominated mostly by single-file racing. Unfortunately, the new car has seemed to have produced more of that type of racing than anticipated.

1. 69 races and counting!!! Little "E" is all hype, propped up by the media!! I should start a web-site. I will list all the reasons "E" is just a loser. So far, I have 69 reasons.

2. We have one comment posted here on a Carl Edwards win and it just so happens that it is another negative Jr comment. There are 43 cars in the race. Jr is still in 4th position in points and ahead of his teammates that hold at least 6 championships. Jr also has a first year team.
I'll just say that you have Jr derangement syndrome. Jr's overrated, blah blah blah, can't do anything right. Jeff Gordon isn't overrated and he couldn't hold on.
In case you missed this, I heard Jimmy J. speak out about the car and I think it was awesome that he did. I like that Jimmy was able to show his personality and say this car is not right. It looks like Jimmy is finally showing that he has an interesting edge. He doesn't have to trash his fellow drivers to show the edge. I think Nascar and fans are better served by having a 2 time champion diplomatically say this racing is not right.

3. You can't help but to like Carl Edwards. He is a class act all of the way.

4. HEY UNDERBUNKER SOLDER,
you may have 69 reasons to begin a website about dale jr. In the past others had a 144 resons to start a negative website on JEFF BOURBON. 4 years he spent at rousch, no wins, only few top 5's and same with top 10's.LOOK at JEFF BOURB. TODAY and last year.100's of motives to start a positive web site on him.
2 years and plus and 79 races and reasons to start a bashing site on BOBBY LABONTE AND many more races
and reasons to go until bobby gets the hell out of
PE and begins with RCR,collecting wins and top 5's.
HOW many negative web sites do you want to start?.
I'M sure there has been many other good drivers in the past in the same shoes of dale, bobby and jeff.
WAS it in 2005/06 that the GOD OF THUNDER ROW JGORD.
did not even make the chase.Wasn't it in 2006 that
stewart suffered the same results.?I'm sure the media will prop up all of the succesfull drivers and the unsuccesful once for you to bare your toughts in your bunker and keep them away the reader.works for me.

5. Carl Edwards has proven himself as a driver and as self-made "entity". The business cards, backflip and performance on the track are proof that this smart, goodlooking, talented driver is someone to be reckoned with in NASCAR.

6. I see where Carl's relatives wrote here that he's a class act. Class act? Not hardly, especially when you remember what an assho.. .he's been the last 2 years and if it wasn't for Sponsor pressure he would still be pushin' his bully-ass around the track. But I would use his talents (and his driving is a talent)to get Samsung's CEO, off the hook, as he is being charged with "price fixing and bribery." Ok, so that last part was a stretch but I didn't mention You Know Who....

7. I used to like Carl Edwards but on this one, I think I have to agree with Tooslick. It appears Carl has a case of multiple personality disorder. He seems to have one side (the media) side and then another (the one his fellow drivers see). I have never heard any of his fellow drivers refer to him in kind (now, that's saying something right there). I am also not a fan of anyone that drives for Jack Rousch. I think they are all a bunch of a-holes just like their owner. Their personalities reflect that of his. JMO of course.

8. OMG Kim. JMO? You are learning aren't you?
Funny you would mention multiple personality disorder. Funny since one of our posters seems to be posting under at least four different names, is pulling for a different driver under each name, and lives in a different state under each name. Oh, and claims to be both sexes. I am waiting for a transgender post next.
I am not surprised by Carl Edwards win. I did say I expected him to do well and move back into the top 12 this week. I only got to see the end of the race this week but I did actually watch some of the after race interviews. It was either Edwards or Roush that said "The new car drives so differently from the old car you cannot try to drive it the same. Once the drivers accept that they will be able to drive it better." Not an exact quote but it is close.
Any ways, Carl is riding a really good wave right now and has earned his spot at the top of the heap. He really does need to stop the back flip thig though. One of these times he is going to choke and get hurt doing it and end up looking really stupid.

9. MIKE, I'M still dying to know who the ghost blogger is.On the air or off the air i'm waiting for your investigation results .thank you. OH yes carl hatewards does suffer of multipersonality syndrome.
Even biffle or kenseth said so last year. Do not remember exactly who.
Posted at 2:41AM on Apr 8th 2008 by anzajoe
10. It would not be fair for me to "out" the person on the air. It is up to the individual readers to come to their own conclusions on that one, sorry Joe.

11. I think that Rousch has it figured out on 1.5 mile tracks. I think Raceday picked only Rousch drivers to win on Sunday. Carl deserved to win even tho I am no Rousch fan.
After Sundays race, I heard Jimmy Spencer and Kenny Wallace say that Nascar has to do something because it was very very boring. I also read articles and I heard drivers say that the racing was bad. Both the 2nd place and 3rd place drivers complained. I think one of them said that were barely holding on. They said if they could barely hold on then they can't imagine how drivers in 30th position are feeling.
I wish Geoffrey would post an article about this. I'd like to know if other Nascar fans think these COT races are boring.
Mike,
I'll admit last season that I used another name occasionally. I think that you said that you did that a couple of times too. I am using no other name now. But I would to know what you meant about the game show. I think that I have picked up on two things. I would love to know who you think one of the above id's are because you said previously that you figured it out.
Thanks
Susan

12. In the off season I posted two or three posts under a different name because I had said I was out of it until Feb. It was no fun and I got no joy out of trying to write things that would not immediately be recognized as by me. I also got no joy out of posting a false name. I believe in taking credit for the things I write whether they are good ideas or crap.
The game show reference was a about reading all the posts to see how many different names this one person is writing under.
Eve White is the name of the mystery writer. I know of at least one person that should figure out that little bit of humor without googling it.
In regards to finding the Car Of Today races boring it may be a confidence issue. The drivers still do not have a handle on how the car handles for the most part. But as they get a better handle on it we will see better racing.
JMO of course.

13. Mike,
GOT IT! :-) But then you knew I would didn't you? I have not commented on the "ghost blogger" because frankly, I am just not in the mood to go there with that certain person any longer. I am getting too old & too tired but am well aware of who it is & the many different pen names he/she writes under. :-)

14. CLEVER REAL CLEVER 2to3 weeks ago in that long off the air e-mail i mentioned to you who posts under defferent names(the multipersonality affected person, remember)?. Now, just few weeks later you air my story on the air (well, our story i should now say)promoting it as the -- GHOST BLOGGER STORY--
As expected the he/she multi ID person blames the other. An old game, an old trick, better no to go there and openly name such person on the airwaves.
Unforcenally, just yesterday on another off the air e-mail, i told you :in all fareness i should not blame that known carature even too it would had been easy for me just to dump the ghost blogger responsability on such person, i'm now tempted to say yes it was that person, but i still not going too, cause i'm still not sure and i really have not paid much attention to this ghost blogger lately.
It would make it easy on everybody if you just name
the ghost blogger on the air first, since you brought it up to the airwaves, that said, even if you suspected the ghost was myself.Once the bomb shell has been dropped, than we all take it from there, again ,no matter who such person is.
YOU see, let me summarize it in short.THE GHOST BLOGGER it's an old couple of years story as i said in the past, that only lately has being surfaceing on this pages. works for me.
CARL HATEWARDS, can win another 20 races and i will not care. I never liked fords drivers or dodges exspecially ROUSCHS DRIVERS. MARK MARTIN was the only approachable and likelyable one. That's all.

15. Damn, now I am really confused. But then again I have been working with several people from India lately and the language barrier has been messing with my comprehension. Maybe something exciting will happen in NASCAR and we can get off the GHOST BLOGGER case.

16. OH SORRY MIKE,
let me clarefy just so someone alce does not jump to
conclusions. POST #14, Iwas talking to yourself and i forgot to address you for it. Also let me clarefy something alce. The couple of years old ghost poster
i mentioned,i'm 100%sure who the person is and i told you few weeks ago. What lately i'm not sure if it still that same person is because i have not being paying so much attention to it and obviously
i do not know for sure yet if you mean the same he/she that i said. Other than that, no doubts, depression or multipersonality or bypolarity are nasty, orrible deseases for as no to joke about but maybe be compassionate about and understanding.
I guess we shall do the same for CARL HATEWARDS.

17. SO NONE OF THE OTHER DRIVERS LIKE CARL,,BIG DEAL, AT LEAST THEY DON T CALL HIM DUMB NAMES,,,REMEMBER THE JERK.. THE OTHER DRIVERS CALLED IRONHEAD ??I DON T THINK THAT WAS AN ENDEARING TERM

18. LIKE I SAID, MIKE,
I'M NOT the only one that has a weakness for allcaps.This new BARBIE doll poster: i never remember seeing that name before. Could it be another personality of the ghost blogger?? JUST WONDERING.Hey , on another subject you said before ;
as a realtor you build bridges between the buyer and seller.Maybe you should try to build a bridge in the junior file from fort worth texas to tampa fla.Nevertheless , it may be a bridge to nowhere,
just like the one cancelled by congress in alaska no too long ago.
Posted at 11:58PM on Apr 8th 2008 by anzajoe
19. HEY BARBIE,it's not just the other driver that don't like Carl Hatewards, it's must of the fans also.I don't even like his stupids flip overs too every time he wins. It's kids stuff.

20. ANZAJOE.... i don't know who your favorite driver is but whoever it is, CARL EDWARDS is kicking their butt!!! please continue to hate CARL EDWARDS while me and all of his other fans continue to watch him win. do you really hate carl, or are you just jealous because he is winning and your driver isn't?
