Well, this is helping to make-up for a fairly lackluster Tournament.

It's safe to say that if Memphis loses, this is about missed free throws down the stretch.
11:40: And Memphis is totally demoralized. Dorsey not being inside hurts, but they are just hanging their heads a bit more.
Memphis hasn't scored in the OT and Kansas holds a 69-63 lead with 2:29 left.
11:43: Chris Douglas-Roberts may have gakked on free throws in the final minute, but that was a big 3 to make it a 3 point game with 1:01 left. Kansas still holds the 71-68 lead.
11:47: It's all Kansas at this point. Loose ball on the court, and Kansas gets the tie-up and they have possession.
11:48: And just as I type that, Kansas turns it over by slipping on the court on the inbound.
No harm, as Douglas-Roberts misses a 3 and Memphis has to foul.
18.2 seconds left and Collins shoots free throws. He gets them both to give Kansas the 76-68 lead.
11:50: Kansas wins the NCAA Tournament National Championship 76-68.
Congratulations to Kansas.
Mario Chalmers was named the MVP. Deservedly so. He hit the game-tying 3 with 2.1 seconds left to send the game into OT. Chalmers had 18 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

Memphis lost this game mainly because of missed free throws as we all expected they had to miss sometime. I think it was a bad coaching game on the side of Memphis because in the end of regulation before chalmers hit that three Memphis should have fouled and made Kansas go to the line for one and one. Thats where they lost it.

Kansas you played a great game and had several great breaks. Coach Self, why did you take all the credit and not once thank GOD for the lucky breaks you received and your tremendous victory over Memphis. Now I am curious if Memphis' coach would have been so cold to OUR LORD?

TennMan, you must be from the end of our state that the Pig Orange are in. Can't make it past the Sweet Sixteen (again!!)so you want to talk bad about my city and team. And don't throw, "Well, we beat you!" at us. That only works if you can hold on to a number one ranking for more than 48 hours AND win a few games on the big stage at the dance. Good grief, the Vols darn near lost to American University. Then they beat Blue Mountain Bait Shop and University, or somebody like that, to get to the Sweet Sixteen. Admit it, you really want to be a Tiger fan but you already spent all your allowance on a pretty orange outfit and you're just not sure how you'd look in blue. Why don't you four wheel on back to your trailer, grab a cold one, and watch some reruns of the Pat Summit show.

Memphis Tigers are terrific. What a season! Three 30+ seasons and a 38-2 NCAA record season is nothing to sneeze at, folks. Too bad they let a bunch of gummy bears and twizzlers make one of their star players sick and mess up their game. The Tigers are still the best team in the nation, but congrats to Kan for winning the one that counted Monday night.

I could not say who the better team is after watching this game. Memphis is by far a better perimeter team and Kansas is by far a better inside the paint team....same style maybe but using that style to create points differently.
Memphis by far had the dominate guards..all year we heard about the guards for Kansas...great they are but not as good as Memphis guards...but ultimately it made for a great final that everybody will remember and elevated Memphis once again to the top of the college basketball world...and you had better thank Calipari for this Memphis as I am sure he is not done with this team.
As for the dream team comments ...yes.. but I have a better idea for the Grizzlies..get Rose and CDR and the Big Boys for Kansas..thats what I call a dream team...and let Collins be that 6th man..

I AM SO TIRED OF THE EXCUSES THAT ARE BEING MADE FOR MEMPHIS. THEY DIDN'T MAKE THE FREE THROWS, THEY SHOULD HAVE FOULED WITH 10 SECONDS LEFT. ITS ALL PART OF GAME. YETS GIVE CREDIT WERE CREDIT IS DUE. LAST NIGHT kANSAS WAS A STRONGER AND SMARTER TEAM. THEY DESERVE THE NATIONAL TITLE.

GREG If you were watching the same game I was - Memphis fouled Kansas, but as usual the officials were watching the other Memphis players and didn't call it. I was not suprised that there were several calls that we not seen and guess what else, I am from Kansas
