A Little Loud in St. Paul

Greetings from St. Paul, where the Minnesota Wild open the Stanley Cup Playoffs against Colorado.

Good thing I don't have to hear anything. Former Minnesota center Wes Walz did the "Let's Play Hockey" thing, and I'm not sure how any of these 18,000 or whatever people have any throat left. It's an incredible atmosphere for a playoff game.

I'll be checking in throughout the evening with updates from this game, which promises to be a very intense battle between division rivals that have already played eight times this year. Hey, what's seven (maybe) more?

As for the Wild, Derek Boogaard and Todd Fedoruk are in the lineup to help protect the skill players in case anyone from Colorado tries anything funny (see: Laperriere, Ian). Chris Simon warmed up for Minnesota but is a late scratch.
