This is a testament to the awesomeness of the tubes on two levels -- 1, that WWE announcer Jim Ross can share his inside knowledge of the NFL on his blog (which is called J.R's Family Bar-B-Q -- bonus!), and 2, that I can find out about it despite the fact that the last time I watched professional wrestling people were still using the floppy discs that actually flopped.

Reggie Bush was also at WM24 and was hanging around Snoop Dogg's trailer most of the afternoon on Sunday. My sources tell me that the New York Giants are going to trade outstanding TE Jeremy Shockey to Bush's Saints, prior to the NFL draft. Shockey is an Oklahoma kid from Ada who told me last week he was looking forward to playing for the Saints.

Mike Florio has nothing on good ol' J.R. Actually, Florio might actually be one of Ross' sources. Or maybe even we are! Truth is, Ross could have pulled that information out of anywhere. But he also says he heard it straight from the horse's mouth and, y'know, I believe him. A family barbecue sauce mogul never lies. A bachelor barbecue sauce mogul ... that's an entirely different beast.

Whether the long-rumored trade happens or not remains to be seen, but this much is for sure: if I were Bill Simmons, the last 200+ words would have been one gimmick-riddled schtick fest. Luckily for us all, I'm not a tool.
