The Word:

Chad Johnson Takes Exception to Carson Palmer's Comments; Demands Trade

Once again, Bengals WR Chad Johnson is voicing his displeasure about staying in Cincinnati. Ho-hum, nothing new, right?

Well, it seems as if Ocho Cinco's latest outburst may be the most serious one. Not only does he finally come out and demand to be traded, but he throws QB Carson Palmer under the bus.

Palmer had mentioned that Chad told him that he would report to minicamp in June. Chad wanted to clear the air:

"I want to make this very clear,'' Johnson said Wednesday. "I don't know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I've been saying for three months that I don't want to play for the Bengals.''

"I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn't happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible,'' Johnson said. "I don't intend on reporting to anything.''

Sure, Johnson has spent a good part of the winter running his mouth off to anyone with a microphone. But this is the most serious of his statements. He hadn't come out and demanded a trade despite people begging him to publically say it until now.

While it wasn't ripping Carson Palmer, shoving him to the side and not even giving up a "he must have misremembered" comment in there doesn't bode well. These two are the faces of this franchise and their success was made on how well and close they worked together That seems to be falling apart at the seems and the Bengals need to figure something out.
