I suspect Bengals fans don't see the humor in any of this, but as an outside observer I'd like to applaud Marvin Lewis for calling Chad Johnson's bluff. Johnson has been bellyaching for months about wanting a trade and the Bengals, for months, have declined to honor his wishes.
Ocho Cinco has taken his case to the media and threatened to sit out the season if he's in Cincinnati come September. Lewis, during a Tuesday press conference, kindly offered Mr. Cinco some advice:
"I've stated our case with Chad," Lewis said. "He has a contract through 2011. He's stated without an opportunity to go to a different team and a new contract, he wasn't going to play. I think he's a man of his word and says he's not going to play, so don't play."Given Chad's moody demeanor this off-season, I'm guessing he didn't take Lewis' suggestion all that well. There is good news, though: even though Johnson unloaded on Carson Palmer last week, the Bengals quarterback isn't holding a grudge:
"I take it with a grain of salt," said Palmer, who is working out with the team in Cincinnati. "I've moved on and I'm over it. I'm not really going to comment on it much more." Asked if the two could get along if Johnson stays, Palmer said, "I've always been a forgiving guy, and I hope he's here because he's a good player, and I hope to see him here."So if we're to believe Palmer, at least one person in Cincinnati doesn't hate Johnson. The 2008 season is off to a fabulous start.

Unless Chad Johnson hits the jackpot in a casino or lottery he won't sit out the season because by sitting out he will lose his paychecks and his skills to play football. Fun times at the Bengal Zoo.

Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens come out of the same mold. They both are ego driven loud mouths, who only do things for themselves. The likes of Jerry Rice and others at that position have shown only class. Those two idiots don't even deserve to lick their shoes clean.

Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
The Bengals should just act as though he suffered a season ending injury and proceed from there.
Enough, already, Ocho Stinco!

I don't like Chad Johnson. All mouth and no heart. When its 3rd and long who does Carson look for? Houshmanzada thats who! It always seems like Chad is making such fantastic circus catches. Well if he would run better routes then he would not need to bend backwards to make a catch. GET RID OF HIM!
