Now UFC President Dana White has severed ties with Starnes, although there's some question of whether he resigned or was fired. White says:
"I don't care if Starnes says we cut him, or he asked to be let go - at the end of the day if you're a professional fighter, and you are fighting in the UFC in front of your hometown crowd, you have to show up to fight."There are some rumors that Starnes is happy to be out of UFC and that he wants to sign with another promotion, but why on earth would any promotion want him now? Starnes made a fool of himself on Saturday and alienated MMA fans, and he has a long way to go to repair his image.

Well, at least Starnes made weight. So he's got that going for him.
I've hardly ever been more disappointed in a fighter - really, his whole career. When he was on TUF, he was one of the first picks and the favorite in his division. He made it to the semis, then quit in the middle of the fight. His pro career afterwards had been disappointing while still showing flashes of talent, and then he pulls this. Pathetic.
Personally, I think his next fight should be against Gabe Ruediger.

hey, boring fights lead to fewer fans paying money to watch...I'd say it was a smart move by Dana.

I guess starnes was afraid of getting knocked out ugly. Personally, I would have chosen the ugly knockout and risk being on the wrong end of a highlight reel over total embarrassment and career ending humiliation. Especially after all the time spent in the gym bustin' your ass to get where he was (National TV). Does anyone think he can even walk in to a gym anymore?

PEOPLE WATCHED HIM BECAUSE HE WAS A BACKYARD BRAWLER, THAT'S IT. THE GUYS ON ELITE WERE TRAINED IN DIFFERANT MARTIAL ARTS AND STEPPED INTO THE RING TO USE THEIR TRAINING AGANST ANOTHER SKILL, OR SKILLED PERSON IN COMBAT.
