Zach Thomas Can't Quit the Dolphins ... Even Though, You Know, They Cut Him

Even though he's no longer with the team, Zach Thomas is still doing his part to give the Dolphins the best chance to win. At least that's the story his agent Drew Rosenhaus is selling:
"Dallas was a very good fit for him because, like New England, they're a winning team," ... Rosenhaus told 560-AM ... Tuesday morning. "They're in his home state, close to his family, and he grew up as a Cowboys fan. But also being a loyal Dolphin, and he'll always be a Dolphin, it would have been very difficult for him [to play for New England]. He did not want to alienate his fans, and really, I don't think, he wanted to compete against the Dolphins."
Well, that's swell. One question, though: if Thomas didn't want to "alienate his fans" why did he even visit New England? I don't begrudge him for meeting with the Pats -- there's a reason guys want to play for the organization -- but if he was so concerned about his South Beach legacy, you'd think he would've avoided the trip altogether.

Thankfully, Jerry Jones, as he's wont to do, saved the day.

I'm just making stuff up here, but maybe Rosenhaus was talking out of his ass during the radio appearance. I know, weird, but it could happen. In any event, Thomas is clearly a much better person than that traitor Wes Welker, who was one game away from winning a Super Bowl last season. Sure, Welker was traded, but if he really cared about the beatdowns the Pats inevitably put on the Dolphins, he would've taken a stand.
