The Miami Dolphins have already used their top pick in the draft on Jake Long. Now, they want to find a way to get another first round pick by cutting some deals.
Word is that Jason Taylor is for sale.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that according to two NFL executives, the Dolphins are trying to land another first-round pick in order to secure a player they're concerned won't be on the board when they lead off the second round with the No. 32 pick overall. And the Palm Beach Post reported that Taylor, who is still competing on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," has quietly requested a trade and understands he could be on the move if the team can make the right deal.
The article says that Miami wants a shot at nabbing Florida DE Derrick Harvey, Auburn DE Quentin Groves, Michigan QB Chad Henne or Delaware QB John Flacco.
I know that Bill Parcells doesn't like us talking about these things, but you knew something would heat up after the Chiefs dealt Jared Allen for a bunch of picks. Of course, Taylor is eight years older than Allen so the trade value isn't as high.

The Dolphins could get something good for Taylor. A first rounder seems like a lot.

I dont think there is a comparison with Taylor and Allen primarily because of age. I think they would be LUCKY to get a second rd pick for him. That being said Taylor would look great with a Star on his helmet.

Probably not smart thinking by the Dolphins. As they are acquiring new talent, having a great Veteran player like Taylor around would be really useful.

Probably not a smart choice by the Dolphins. Taylor's veteran experience could be really useful to the rookies.

Actually the Dolphins 2nd pick is the last pick of the 1st round Sportz Assassin. Due to the Pats losing a pick.

Jason Taylor is a Dolphin and doesnt belong anywhere else, just as Zach Thomas doesnt. I know I think with the heart of a Dolfan and not as a businessman, but it sucks. Our team of great is all over the league doing well, but WE dont think they are good enough to play here. It has ALWAYS been tough being a Dolphin Fan, but this is a true test. I hope I pass.

I think getting rid of Jason would be a BIG MISTAKE! His Morale and dedication to the Dolphins and South Florida has been great! We need more players like him...Who still have the love of football in their hearts and not all about the $$$. Plus, he would be a added value to the rookies to follow. HE can remind them all of why they play this game. He is an asset to the team, Don't let him GO!

Moral?dedication? It is all about the money..has been for years, going to be tragic when players are making more money than these teams could possibly make.
