Retired Packers quarterback Brett Favre appeared on David Letterman last night, and when Letterman tried to bring up the question of whether the Packers' failure to acquire Randy Moss had anything to do with Favre's retirement, Favre shut it down:
"Randy I think is a great player and will continue to be, but believe me, that had no bearing whatsoever on my coming back," said Favre of the rumor that won't die.
Favre also said he thinks Aaron Rodgers will do well as the Packers' quarterback in 2008, and that he now spends time on his property in Mississippi doing, basically, nothing. Sounds like the retirement a lot of people want.

Letterman. Once so great, now so awkward.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if Moss signed with Green Bay, Favre would still be a Packer.

JFC, there is no doubt in my mind that the Green Bay Packers organization and most importantly, the fans would ever allow Moss to become a Packer. Driver, Jennings and new James are a formidable trio as evidenced by the 13-3 season. In addition, Robinson has added additional expertise to the Packers. Why on earth would you disrupt that with a player like Moss who would ruin the morale that is currently outstanding. If you like Moss so much, watch the Patriots. By the way, Brett Favre had a super star receiver in Sterling Sharpe and the two of them set many records together but also lost a lot of games in doing so. Football is a team sport and that is why Moss will never have a super bowl win. Get with the program or choose another sport to analyze.

Hey Dick,
I never "said" or thought for a minute that Green Bay would sign Moss. All I said was Favre would have come back if Moss was on the team (the point of the article) because Brett wants to win another championship so bad. I was surprised that New England signed that "cancer" but he behaved because NE was winning and he was getting the ball. What in the world are you smoking to think that I like Randy Moss??? I can't stand likes of him, Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, Pac Man and bunch of the other high priced NFL distractions.
I'll give you pass on this one and we can just blame it on the fact that you have been out in the sun too long........
