14. Chicago Bears: Chris Williams, Vanderbilt

If what you're looking for is a guy who can step in and play left tackle immediately, Vanderbilt offensive tackle Chris Williams might be the best prospect in this year's draft. Jake Long and Ryan Clady are generally regarded as better long-term tackle prospects, but Long is more a run blocker than a pass blocker, and Clady has less experience against top-notch competition.

The Bears just got an opening day starter, a guy who would make their quarterback better by giving him more time -- if the Bears had a quarterback, that is. However, I'm not sure that I would have taken Williams while Branden Albert is still on the board.

Mike Mayock reported on NFL Network that at least three teams have dropped Williams off their draft boards because of concerns about a neck injury -- even though he has played every game the last three seasons. Health concerns aside, Williams is a good pick for the Bears.
